Although there are separate gun laws for each state it is determined that it is legal for all states to have their police departments carry mace and taser guns. With this being said, it is therefore legal for police officers to use mace and taser guns to control an individual and to help in the protection of others.
After being maced or tased, and individual will be stunned enough to lay on the ground. This action gives police officers enough time to put handcuffs on the individual. Being tased and maced can be painful, however the pain does subside in a brief time period. Generally speaking, after and individual is tased or maced, they will calm down and will be easily controlled by law enforcement.
